I would consider cleaning the waste ink mechanism on an HP printer to be reasonably difficult, both because the ink gets on everything, and because full disassembly of the waste ink mechanism involves a couple of small springs which take some skill to reinstall. I have done a number of repairs on electronics, including things like replacing the screen on a MacBook Pro and the battery and other components on iPhones.
